In 1988, Giuseppe DiFronzo breathed life into the original Giuseppe’s Cucina in Pismo Beach. What started as a Cal Poly senior project has since spawned a second restaurant, located in thriving downtown San Luis Obispo.
Much beloved by locals and travelers alike, Giuseppe’s was an early adopter of the farm-to-fork philosophy — long before the phrase made it onto every menu in California.

DiFronzo Farms · Edna Valley
The owner’s own DiFronzo Farms produces the heirloom varietal vegetables and fruits found in Giuseppe’s cuisine. Nestled on twelve acres of fertile Edna Valley soil, the working farm is a mecca of heirloom bounty.
Figs, olives, San Marzano tomatoes, squash, Hachiya persimmons, Meyer lemons — and five grape varietals that produce Giuseppe’s own DiFronzo Vineyards wines.

The downtown room. Opened second, after the original Pismo restaurant — now the flagship on Monterey Street.
Pismo
The original. Giuseppe DiFronzo opened the first Cucina here in 1988 — patio, fountain, fig trees. The adjacent Italian American Club runs daily, 11am to 9pm.
Private events
Pismo’s charming garden and villa setting hosts up to 80 guests — weddings, rehearsals, receptions. The SLO banquet room seats forty for private dinners, with a fully stocked bar at either house.

Visit
We don’t take reservations — walk-ins welcome at both locations. Delivery runs Monday through Sunday, four to eight, in Pismo Beach. Banquets and private events: handled in-house.
